ORHPA awards a Historic Preservation Award annually. The award is given to a public-use facility that reflects guidelines outlined for historic preservation in the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and Guidelines for Archaeology and Historic Preservation.
The award is presented on September 19th-the date in 1942 that General Leslie Groves chose Oak Ridge as the site for the Manhattan Project processing plants. The following properties have been awarded Historic Preservation Awards (click image for details on year awarded and property information):

- 2003-Plaza I Apartments, 82 East Tennessee Ave.
- 2004 -Children’s’ Museum of Oak Ridge, 461 W. Outer Drive. Originally Highland View School
- 2005-Oak Ridge Nursery School, Inc., 151 Robertsville Rd. Originally Groves Nursery School
- 2006-Chapel on the Hill, 85 Kentucky Avenue.
- 2007-Red Cross, 908 Oak Ridge Turnpike. Originally the Housing Allotment Office
- 2007-National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 456 S. Illinois Ave. Originally served as a field hospital
- 2008 -The Playhouse at Jackson Square. Originally The Center Theater at Jackson Square.
- 2008-Christ Community Church. Originally Outer Drive Shopping Center.
- 2008-Oak Ridge Turnpike Gatehouse (a.k.a. Checking Station). ORHPA Preservation Planning Award presented to TDOT and DOE.
- 2009 – Jefferson Community Building

- 2012 Plaza II Apartments “Broadway Apartments”
- 2013 Pine Valley School – Administration Building
- 2013 -Capital Mark “Hamilton National Bank Building”

- 2015 – International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Union building formerly a section of The Lakewood Hall
- 2016 – The Hospitality Houses at Methodist Medical Center formerly original E-2 duplexes on West Tennessee Ave
