The Oak Ridge Heritage and Preservation Association will hold its next meeting on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Oak Ridge History Museum in the Wildcat Den room, at 7:00 pm. The meeting is open to the public. The guest speaker will be historian Ron Evans.
Mr. Evans served as vice president and president of the Anderson County Historical Society (formerly known as the Pellissippi Genealogical and Historical Society) from 2004 – 2013. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Society. Mr. Evans is also a charter member and President of the Powell Station History Society of Knox County.
Additional activities include being a family historian for the Evans, Paul, Humphrey, Darr, and Underwood families of East Tennessee and doing genealogical research since 1980. Mr. Evans’ research has led to an interest in the history of many East Tennessee counties where his ancestors lived. These counties include Knox, Anderson, Sevier, Union, Bradley and Polk. He has been a website creator since 1999
and is currently administrator of the Anderson County page on the TnGen Web website and other sites.
